What Happens When You Create A Person

Where do I begin, this last half of July?

4. President Reuven Rivlin offered remarks at the official ceremony marking ten years since the Second Lebanon War, held on Jerusalem's Mt. Herzl today.
The President began his remarks by addressing the bereaved families and their fallen loved ones, "Here, on Jerusalem's mountain of yearning and longing, we remember them and speak of them, and miss them even more."
The President spoke about the bravery, camaraderie and sacrifice of the soldiers and commanders of the IDF, and of ...the lessons learned from this war. He stressed, "Hezbollah received a severe blow during that campaign. The State of Israel discouraged its opponents and in the last decade since the end the Second Lebanon War, quiet has returned to the north, tourism is booming, and communities are growing. But we must internalize the essence of the threat that we face, and listen at all times to the sounds of war bubbling beneath the deceptive calm. Hezbollah continues to rearm itself and it has not ceased in its efforts to destroy Israel. Recently it has admitted candidly that it does not only serve Lebanese interests, but it is spearheaded, financed operated by and for the Iranians."
The President added, "We know that the next war, if forced upon us, will be difficult, yet we will always have the upper-hand. We don’t have the privilege to be unprepared, to be untrained, and to not see into the future...We must not forget for one minute the togetherness, the durability, and the steadfastness that the people of Israel demonstrated, and which the Israeli home front demonstrated during the Second Lebanon War. They are a source of strength for the State of Israel; they are the source of its resilience. They must continue and be an integral part of our being, as a sovereign nation."
The President concluded by saying, "It has been a decade since the war, and the injured who bear the scars – in both body and spirit – are still many...It's been a decade since the war and every day, every hour, every minute and second you seek solace; and there is none. May the memory of our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, dear loved ones be engraved in our hearts forever. May their souls will be bound in eternal life."

5. Guys.... "Hufflepuff" in French is "Poufsouffle"... doesn't that just make your day?

6. If you see a deep need in the world and your heart is broken over it maybe the Holy Spirit is calling you to do something about it. Some of the greatest movements and accomplishments in history began as one individual took action. Never underestimate what can be done when one person is passionate about something. One person, when God is leading, is a majority.

7. How often do the wrongs we deplore continue because we lack the courage to speak up?

8. Third Eye Blind shocked concert goers in Cleveland last night. I'm appalled at the crowd's reaction to, "We believe in tolerance and acceptance."
Even if I wasn't a liberal, I'd be asking when did the Republican Party not stand for these things? Hello, "All men are created equal," was written by a Republican President! [Technically true, even though Thomas Jefferson who wrote the Declaration of Independence changed his political affiliation to Democratic as soon as it was safe, and in the first half of the 19th century "Republicans" -- the political party by that same doesn't appear until the 1850s -- and Democrats were almost the opposite of what they are today. -- D.]
And you can say, ‪#‎NotAllRepublicans‬ and I'll agree with you. BUT this is a special concert (and a large one) for the ‪#‎RNC‬. So those people booing are t...he Republican leaders who were voted into power by we the people in the good ol' US of A.
If you vote for those who do not stand for tolerance & acceptance, then you are showing support for those boo's. ‪#‎SomethingToConsider‬.

I miss the days when the two parties weren't so vastly different...when each candidate brought good things to the table with clear cut plans, no scandals, and some cross dressing thrown in for good measure.

9. Bit if info for people who've never run the math on wages for small bussiness. Take the wage they pay an employee per hour and triple it. That'll give you a ball park for what the employer pays due to social security, medicare, workman's comp, insurance that covers the employees actions at work, and various other fees, regulations and requirements states and the federal government require (some are industry specific so it varies a bit). Note: if you hire a contractor divide their per hour fee by 3, or 4 if they're ONLY charging your labor. The company makes their money out of the left over. Most small business owners don't make much more than their employees. Sometimes they make less, because they can cut their own salary much more easily than an employee's and still stay afloat.

10. Yet even if the details of my life looked nothing like [movie director John] Hughes' movies, they nonetheless taught me something important.: that I, a weird girl who lived too much inside her own head, whose looks somehow never seemed to coincide with the fashions of that day and wouldn't even kiss a boy until well into her third decade, deserved to be the star of my own movie.

11. I am an adult. I am a gamer. I have a real job. I am a parent.
So, for the love of all things good and holy, before you start bashing me and those who play games (most especially Pokemon GO) as "not having a life" or "not being responsible", understand that there are a LOT of gamers like me. Games are how we choose to enjoy our free time and let off a little steam in other ways besides consuming ridiculous amounts of alcohol or controlled substances.
Thank you.

12. Where Jack Nicholson’s Joker was a scary clown and Heath Ledger’s an art-punk chaos theorist, Leto’s looks much more like a gangster — his incarnation of the character is decked out with rings, fancy cars, tattoos, and shiny, open blazers. The video also includes other interesting, creepy scenes of the Joker cleverly using his hand tattoo and lying at the center of a circle of knives, signifying that this Joker is indeed a new creation.

13. I am strong because I know my weaknesses
I am beautiful because I am aware of my flaws
I am fearless because I learnt to recognise, illusion from real
I am wise because I learn from my mistakes
I am a lover because I have felt hate...
And.....
I can laugh because I have known sadness.

14. A perfect example of what happens when you throw every disadvantage together and create a person.

15. ... Name three thoughts you are having at this moment:
1-I need to get out of the bed
2-why is bear barking
3-I know there is something I need to do ...

16. She was the manliest man-woman.

17. We're taking you where romance lives and fashion styles die -- TO THE MALL!

(Gravity Falls, "Soos and the Real Girl")

18. I live, like, love, dislike, (and try not to) hate, on a personal level, no blankets, or stereotypes. I comfortably go and hang where many are uncomfortable, if not outright, scared. Penthouse or trap. I refuse to change now because of media or movements. I am ME.

19. It may be time as my mom said, to recapitulate my assets and liabilities.

20. In a world unbound by petty rivalries. (said in a movie trailer voice) Wouldn't it be cool if DC and Marvel could merge seamlessly???

21. i love technology... the fact that we live in a world where unfolding your briefcase into your space car jetsons-style doesn't even seem outrageously unattainable is totally cool....
except for the part where we are subjected to having so much access to the world that i have to see stories about a man beating a turtle to death with a hammer and claiming self-defense.... or of a 102 year old woman who was followed from the ATM and assaulted.... or any number of outrageous injustices you can find on a daily basis without even trying.... not that horrendous things didn't always happen.... but there is something to be said for being sheltered from the level of depravity we swim among.
