Election Means "Chosen" Here.

1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 May 9

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 2-4
Numbers 12 -- Aaron and Miriam speak out against Moses; Miriam is given leprosy for seven days; the people journey from Hazeroth to Paran
I don't need to jump at my wife every time I disagree with her, do I?
And from the place where my novel The Book of Numbers began, I jump forward twelve years to ... now. Today at work after putting the medical supplies away we got to attend a picnic on Trinity Health's south patio where they grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch -- 'Twas delicious and the weather was just the right balance of windy and warm. And after work we were at church with the kids where Spring Fling was held commemorating the end of (Sunday) Church School for the year.
There was dinner of hot dogs and macaroni and cheese followed by two groups of Sunday (Church) Schoolers singing there, the kindergarteners through second graders followed by third through fifth graders. And for the next couple of weeks, our son Jeffrey will be part of the latter group -- now in elementary school that is. And he's not only got perfect attendance for Church School THIS year, he's got in for six years running!
Election with some gentle prodding from Mom and Dad,
David
