I Was Forty-Five Today.

Ha. Only two years off according to our Wii Fit Plus after taking the daily Body Test from my actual age! The youngest I’ve been — and I’m guessing that you can be as an adult working on that — is 19, but I think anywhere within ten years either direction is most honest. It’s not like I’m going to the gym and then coming back here; I certainly would not have the dedication to be there for (according to the Wii) 548 consecutive days.

When I’m home from work and from church and not eating lately, not only am I outlining a story with the main character of Nicholas of Myra (the fourth-century Christian bishop whom Santa Claus is derived from) I’m also getting to help our kids with homework, such as Sarah last night  with South America and tonight with body joints and Jeffrey with mathematics order of operations and tonight ... well, right now Martha’s listening to him practice the trombone.

I have a tin ear when it comes to music. In any event, it doesn’t seem my kids need homework help that much — they’re pretty bright on their own! And now as Sarah plays the clarinet, I reflect as I see them expressing their own talents

and realize making the Council of Nicaea exciting won’t be so hard after all!
